What Kind of Marketing From the "Degrees? Climate Group"?

Saw this today on the Reuters Interactive pages (A very worthwhile free service that you should sign up to. Really a good service mainly supported by traders and people in the know.).

The point I want to make is the marketing of the Climate Group when it has the little "0" degrees marker in the upper corner of the logo box. In fact the headline on the story labels the company the "Climate Group" with the degree marker.

And this makes me wonder. How many of you can find the little degree symbol on the computer? In my opinion that is poor marketing.

But the article is worth a read, in any case.

The °Climate Group Welcomes New Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's Commitment to Climate Change

The °Climate Group welcomes the election of Kevin Rudd's Labor Party in Australia and its strong commitment to address climate change.

Mr Rudd has said that one of the first things he plans as Prime Minister is to ratify the Kyoto Protocol.

"This send a strong message that the best way to address climate change is by the world working together," said Rupert Posner, Australian Director of The °Climate Group.
"We welcome the fact that Mr Rudd will attend next month's climate change meeting in Bali. It will send a strong message that Australia is once again going to take a leading role in helping the world address climate change."

During the campaign Mr Rudd also committed to reducing Australia's greenhouse gas emissions by 60% by 2050, increasing the country's renewable energy to 20% by 2020 and introducing emissions trading.

Iceland : The Best Place To Live?

...by Whom? Polar bears on holidays?

I can't help thinking that this interest is a result of Global Warming. You know, what with northern countries become more and more like Florida, and southern places just bbeing overwhelmed by flames (California).

But perhaps its something else.
